Lately my life has looked like this:
New gym membership at Lifetime Fitness (YES!!!!)
New Job (DOUBLE YES!!!)
Cut up my credit card ( BYE, BYE)
ditched Facebook (HELLO, NEW FREE TIME)
and added breakfast to the mix (This has been a struggle for me, but I have enrolled my friend to check in with me about it and I’ve purchased Puffin cereal to get me jazzed in the AM)
I am always working on something. I am a fan of self improvement and am ever evolving into my best self. I am not going to break down my list of “game changers” or rather recent change, but I will go into the nitty gritty of how to go about changing things up.They say it takes 60 some odd days for a change to become a habit. This means work and constant effort and action to make it happen. I listened to a trainer at the gym today say
” Listen…you can lift this, remove the can’t”
You see, sometimes we have to question our cant’s, couldn’t, could never’s and push the envelope a bit. This is how we see results of our work : stronger muscles, a new found self confidence, success at work, and even a new PR.
Lately, I feel as though I have taken a back seat in my marathon training. My long runs have been squeezed into my schedule. I have also been cross training more then I have been running. Therefore, this week I made some changes.
My training schedule now looks a bit like this:
Monday: Strength train arms, 15 minutes of core, 20 min run
Tuesday: 5 mile run, 15 minutes of core
Wednesday: Strength train legs, 15 minutes of core, 20 min run
Thursday: 5 mile run, 15 minutes of core
Friday: Strength train arms, 15 minutes of core, 20 min run
Saturday: Long Run, 15 minutes of core
Sunday: Cross train, 15 minutes of core
I will run a sub 4 hour marathon in May. However, I have to make some changes today to make sure it happens. I have a plan and am taking action. What are you working on right now? Are you feeling discouraged? Or perhaps needed an extra push of motivation to get where you want to be.
Infuse your life with action. Don’t wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen… yourself, right now, right down here on Earth.
