Holy Hummus

It’s a Friday at 8:00pm on University Avenue in Palo Alto, California.  The Oren’s Hummus line is out the door.  This is typical for a small family restaurant that boasts a generous bowl of hummus.

If you live near this restaurant you must go! Get the chicken skewers and hummus.  I can assure you, you will not be let down.

Visit Oren’s Website here:

Now that I am back in Minnie you can find me in the hummus isle.  I love to pair this bomb dip with every veggie imaginable and even like a dollop on a good ol’ salad.  Think of it as an easy way to get your veggies in if you dislike them plain or are looking for a nutritious alternative to creamy-perservative laden veggie dip.

Hummus faves:

  • Holy Land Hummus (roasted red pepper)

  • Phoenician Hummus (roasted garlic)

  • Whole Foods brand hummus (Lemon, Garlic, and Sweet Red Pepper varieties)
  • Trader Joe’s three layer hummus (great for parties and entertaining)

Do you like hummus? Stumped with what to bring as an app for a party? Or perhaps you can recommend a new one to try?

  1. Check out Cahoots in St. Paul. Middle Eastern coffee shop with authentic homemade hummus and pita chips! The best!
